Personal Injury: Personal Injury covers a broad spectrum of issues when one has been physically or emotionally injured, and/or personal property has been damaged.
Shoulder: The shoulder allows us to control our hands and function properly at work, play and all other activities of daily living. The shoulder must stay in proper shape in order to continue a normal lifestyle.
Lumbar (Back): Lumbar means pertaining to the abdominal segment of the torso. There are five vertebrae
(bones) in the lumbar region of the back
(L-1 - L-5). These are the largest and strongest of the spinal column.
Head/Brain: A head injury is any trauma that leads to injury of the scalp, skull, or brain. Head injuries can be classified as closed or penetrating.
Burns: A burn is an injury to the skin caused by exposure to thermal (heat), cold, electricity, chemicals, radiation, and friction.
Chest & Abdomen: Chest trauma is a common finding in car accidents and falls. A forceful blow to the chest can injure organs in the chest and/or upper abdomen.
Ear, Nose, and Throat: The ear is a hearing organ that detects sound and also involved in balance. There are three different parts of the ear, which consist of the outer ear, middle ear and inner ear. The nose contains the most frequently broken bones in the face. A broken nose may have injured bone, cartilage, nerves, or nasal lining. Rupture of the trachea or bronchus can occur with trauma to the neck. The trachea is the tube in your throat that helps you breathe.
Eye: Eye injuries range from minor to severe. A direct blow to the eye can cause damage to the skin, tissues, eyeball, and bones around the eye.
Foot/Toe: Arthritis, Foot drop, Fracture of the Talus, Lisfranc Fracture (Midfoot Fracture), Stress Fractures, Toe Fractures, Metatarsal Fractures.
Hand/Wrist: Wrist Sprains, Scaphoid Fracture of the Wrist, Tendinitis of the Wrist, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Finger Fracture
Hip: The hip is a ball and socket joint which gives a great deal of stability and allows it to move freely. The thigh bone fits inside a cup shaped socket in the hip bone.
Internal Injuries: Internal organ injuries are second only to head trauma as the most common causes of death in child abuse.
Jaw: When you injure your jaw, mouth and dental injuries may also occur. A tooth may crack, chip, break, be knocked out, become loose, or jam into the gum.
Leg: The ankle is a very important in our everyday life, if it is fractured (broken), sprained or strained, life could be difficult. Since the ankle supports the entire weight of the body, it is more susceptible to injury. The knee is the largest joint in the body and also the most complex. The thigh is the area between the hip and the knee. It contains a thick and strong bone known as the femur. The three main muscles of the lower leg are the gastrocnemius, soleus, and anterior tibialis. The gastrocnemius and the soleus are the calf muscles. The anterior tibialis is the muscles blamed for shin splints.
Lung: A lung injury can occur any time a person receives a blow to the chest. The result is usually a collapsed lung, or pneumothorax. The lung and the chest wall are covered by thin membranes called pleura. A collapsed lung occurs when air escapes from the lungs or leaks through the chest wall and enters the space between the two membranes (pleural cavity). As air builds up, it causes the nearby lung to collapse. A chest x-ray is usually taken to confirm you have a collapsed lung. A computed tomography - CT scan - may be needed in some cases to find a small collapsed area of a lung or for people with extensive lung disease.
Pelvis: The pelvis is a ring like structure of bones at the lower end of the trunk. The two sides are three bones (ilium, ischium, and pubis) that grow together as people age.
Spinal/Neck: The cervical (neck) region of the spine consist of 7 vertebrae (bones) C1 - C7. These vertebrae carry the weight of the head. The spinal cord is part of the nervous system and is the largest nerve in the body. Specifically, nerves are cordlike structures which are made up of nerve fibers. These nerve fibers are responsible for the communication systems of the body which include sensory, motor and autonomic functions.
Hearing Loss: Occupational Hearing Loss (also known as Occupational Induced Noise Hearing Loss or Workplace Hearing Loss) is the loss of hearing due to constant exposure to high levels of noise in the workplace. Most workers who receive this type of injury work in plants and industrial facilities or factories. Workplace hearing loss is preventable, however once it occurs it is irreversible. Like other types of hearing loss, the damage is gradual and not easily recognizable by the victim. Many may confuse this type of hearing loss with the natural aging process. However, this assumption is dangerous, especially if an individual continues to work in a noisy industrial environment without taking precautions.
